My vibrams

Okay so for the past 2 or 3 months I haven't really been running. My back has been in a state and although being upright was okay, sitting wasn't, and my attempt at running ended in a bit of bother. I should have realised that not being able to do up one shoe laces means that I really shouldn't be running. Oh well lesson learnt. I did however live in my five fingers. I got to stand and walk a lot, my body was the happiest wearing them. At work I had a PT do an assessment of my workstation and she frowned a little at my lovely monkey feet shoes. She didn't quite say done wear them but still.

So fast forward to now, the back is better, my gut is bigger and I am now back at knowing that I can run a 5k but my legs aren't going to like me doing so. So being good I start the c25k again, this time with the hope of running faster, which I have been doing. However last week I did week one day one in my monkey feet shoes, and boy, did it feel good. I made sure that I stretched correctly and thought wow I could have done that ages ago. What's all this fuss about having to take it slow. Three hours later and omg muscles I didn't know that I had were unhappy with me. The next day my legs felt like I had run 26 miles, not done ten minutes ruining.

So the plan going forward is to progress with my normal running, get my butt back in the gym to cross train and do some strength work and do my monkey feet running on Sunday's. It will take a while to get to the point of being able to run in them properly, but it's much better to be safe in them. Time will tell to see if I will end up in them full time.
